The First Question Isn’t Who to Hire. It’s What Your Family Actually Needs.
There’s a quiet assumption in almost every divorce and custody case: the more aggressive your attorney, the safer you are.
Here’s what this industry won’t say out loud — the most aggressive attorney in the room is often the worst thing that can happen to your kids.
I didn’t learn that from a textbook. Growing up, my own family had some hard years. I later spent years as a probation officer and a foster parent. The families who fought the hardest didn’t win. Their kids paid for it — for years.
This consultation is where we figure out what your family actually needs — before you spend money on the wrong strategy.

How the Consultation Works
This is a decision tool, not a sales call. You’ll leave knowing where you stand and what your real options are — even if that means I tell you you’d be better served by a different attorney.
The Clarity Call — 30-Minute Phone Consultation — $100
A focused call to cover the basics, ask your questions, and get an honest first read on your situation.
The Strategy Session — 1-Hour In-Person Consultation — $200
A full hour in the office. Bring your documents and the full picture, and I’ll walk through your situation in depth and the path forward.
Retainer Credit
If you retain me within 90 days of your consultation, the full consultation fee is credited toward your retainer.
What You Walk Away With
Every consultation produces four things. Not vague next steps: four concrete things you did not have before you walked in.
1. An honest assessment of your position.
Where you actually stand legally, factually, and strategically. The real picture, not the most optimistic version, not the worst-case scenario. I’ll tell you what your situation actually looks like from the outside.
2. A clear understanding of your options.
What paths are available, what each one requires, and what a Blount County court is realistically likely to do. You will have enough information to make an informed decision without being pressured to make it on the spot.
3. An honest answer about fit.
If your situation calls for a specialist, a different type of attorney, or a different approach entirely. I’ll tell you that directly and help you figure out where to go. I don’t take every case. Part of the consultation is that evaluation, and I will tell you the truth about it.
4. A clear picture of cost.
What representation would look like for your matter, where flat fees apply, and what a realistic estimate is for your specific case. No vague retainer ranges. An honest number based on what you actually told me.
The consultation is not the start of a commitment. It is the information you need to make one, or not.
